heard of someone using crank and rods from a 240 with 300 pistons and equaled a 329 ci. if this is true then im busting out my lab coat and going to the bone yard were i know were a 240 rests and going to have an experiment. anyone got some thoughts or knowledge of such a task.
Pistons are the same 240/300, only the lower assembly is different. Ford stroked a 240 to make a 300. Lots of good info here and at Ford Six Performance, and good people to help you. OBCB
If you know where a 240 sits, grab the head from it. There's your performance mod.
As for the rest, as said, the 300 is basically a stroked 240. So all the 300 stuff put into a 240 would just make a 300. If you put the 240 stuff into a 300, I think you'd turn the 300 back into a 240, or still have a 300 and drop the compression down an insane amount.

Putting a 240 head on a 300 boosts the compression ratio a bit, adding a bit more hp. Have it p&p'ed while off, polish the compression chambers and bowls, and you're starting to let the monster out of its cage.

Only a crankshaft can increase the stroke, not the pistons or rods !
