I hope these pictures come out.
I have owned this truck for only 1 year, the previous owner really didn't do a whole heck of a lot to preserve the vehicle. I believe the truck originated from New England and made its way down to Maryland. I picked the truck up and judging from the "Fake black paint" underneath the vehicle the dealership (In my opinion) was trying to get rid of this vehicle quickly. I have slowly but surely started to bring the truck back from its cancer infested past but its still a battle I will ultimately win. It all started with a strange noise kind of like bolts in a blender, so I parked the rig and started operating. The E brake pads were pretty much mangled in the housing, but while I was pulling the pads out I accidently bumped the back plate and knocked a 3" hole in the back plate. I'm replacing pretty much everything in the back end due to rust. I did spend 2 days pulling the class V since it resembled a rusty boat anchor. It will take me another year but the truck will come back better then before.
T-mainus, it is a 2005 F250 CC lariat with 70K on the odometer. The truck itself looks new including the interior but anything underneath the bed itself looks pretty rough.

Holy **** batman. Thats hard to believe. I live in WI where we salt the hell out of the roads in the winter, I have never seen anything like that before.

Reason: NO MASKING PROFANITY
Well just in case anyone was thinking this, my truck spends most of its days in the driveway and only driven on the weekends or camping in the N.C. mountains. We do not own a boat, and usually the only thing I use salt for is margaritas.
I knew when I purchased this vehicle stuff like this would come up, but its been a great truck mechanically and the rest will get sorted out in a year or two.
I would suspect some of that damage at least started from heat. I'll bet the e-brake was left on and the rear brakes were nice and red by the time anyone noticed. Metal that has been heated up like that tend to oxidize (rust) quicker.
