icp sen problem
i have a 03 6ltr that sometime throws the code for the injector control press sen .been told could be the wires going to the sen are bad for getting against the turbo or the sensor it's self back out a little from vibbration.or bad sensor.the books i have says it it ether under the turbo or on passide valve cover.anyone know anything about this.thanks.

All '03s have the ICP on the back of the engine below the turbo. Starting with the '04/'04 (some early '04s had '03 engines, and are identified as '04/'03) the ICP was moved to the valve cover on the side of the engine--way easier to access. This is one of the weak points of the 6.0 as the sensor develops leaks and the oil seeps into the wiring pigtail and plays havoc with the signal. The ICP on my '03 was replaced twice under warranty.

The ICP sensor is on the high pressure oil pump for '03 and early '04, which is at the back of the engine valley under the turbo. To access you can either remove the turbo, or from under the truck remove the exhaust heatshield at the rear of the engine and access from there. Remove the connector and check for oil inside the terminals. If you find oil, replace the sensor and the connector. The sensor tends to fail and allow oil to contaminate the harness, resulting in intermittent ICP circuit codes.
