Problem Code help please !
Just got a Bully Dog Triple Dog GT Tuner for my 06 with a 4.6 to help out the power. Bully Dog just came out with the tune for the truck, so the premium tune isnt workng right and sending the truck into limp mode and theyre debugging it, so anywho I'm running the regular tune with premium gas and the truck is running great, better than stock. However when I check the problem codes with the tuner im getting a p1000 and a p0605, but no check engine light. I clear the codes but they come back usually when I restart the truck. I've done research and some people say that the 1000 and 0605 are normal when a chip or tuner is installed. Anyone have any information on this ? Thanks !

P1000 is 'normal' for most trucks after flashing the PCM. It's just saying you have not completed the required drive cycle (confirms all the sensors are working).
P0605 Powertrain Control Module ROM Test Error, is not 'normal'.
I would put the truck back to stock and see if the P0605 goes away. If it does, then you know the problem is with the programmer or tune and you need to work it out with Bully Dog.
It is possible that the P0605 is a hardware error, but I doubt it.

When I set it back to stock the p0605 does go away, it only shows when the normal tune is on. Is it okay to keep running the tune, or should i set it back to stock to keep from frying my pcm ? Scott at bullydog said they are working with some Ford engineers trying to solve the limp home mode problem and should have something before the end of the day tomorrow hopefully.....

No codes = GOOD
Codes = BAD (in general)
I'm not saying it will fry your PCM (it won't - it's a ROM error - might be a checksum or other bit/byte error).
However, since we can't tell what the ROM error is, keep it in stock until they resolve the issue.
The P1000 code should go away after you put it back to stock (or after you complete the drive cycle).

Thanks for the help Shotgunz. I set it back to stock and drove the truck about 5 miles and only the p1000 error code remains. Better safe than sorry, even though it probably wouldnt fry the computer like you said since it's a ROM error..it would have been my luck it would have f'd something else up. I kinda miss that extra power already..oh well
I tried calling bullydog about ten times today and no answer. I assume they stay busy. When I talked to Scott at tech support yesterday he said they are working with some engineers at Ford to fix the problem of the truck going into limp mode on the premium tune. So hopefully Bully Dog will live up to their good name and have my premium tune working for me sometime next week"fingers crossed" and I can have my extra horseys back !
