starter/flywheel

So the issue starts with my starter coming loose and then having to replace it. Then the top bolt strips so i get a bigger bolt and it works. Now The starter just grinds on the flywheel and i have no to very little contatct between the two. Im push starting my car because the starter wont engage the flywheel. i really need help on this issue. Yes money is a factor so i dont know if i can get a bigger starter without having to rplace the flywheel becuase that will cost alot more then i have. HELP?

1) Did you get the correct starter for your truck? 2) Did you check the ring gear on your flywhee for damage? I caught a similar issue on my '87 Bronco II before it damaged much. I wound up putting a liberal does of locktite on the starter bolts and doing a quick and dirty overhaul of the starter. My ring gear only has a couple of spots where the teeth got a little ground up, luckily. The bolts had backed out and the starter was about 1/8 - 1/4" away from the bellhousing. It got to where it decided it wasn't even going to engage it was so far out.
