I am in the market for a Highboy, and I came across this one, and I was wondering what you guys thought it was worth.
Here is his description: Pure Ford Muscle. 390 ci , 3/4 ton 4x4 is the most inexpensive work horse you'll ever own. This rare beast is called a "high-boy" and supports a heavy duty suspension. DANA-44 front end has the upgraded 3500# capacity with solid axles, eight bolt lugs etc. The rear end is the DANA-60 package and is rated at a 5200# payload. Its a 3/4 ton but with the heavy duty suspension (that is so hard to find anymore) is rated at 6800# GVW. Custom paint, dual gas tanks, dual battery wells, new tires, headers, 4-speed with a granny (the 435 with 4:10 gearing). This classic beast is clean and looks great while it just keeps working, hauling, pulling, carrying and climbing. Many, many upgrades available for this classic from wench mounts and roll bars to bumpers and leather seats. The motor is good with no clicking, tapping or rattling and the transmission is tight; this is a good truck ready to go to work now. Parts are cheap and easy to find. Easy to work on. Workers and enthusiasts alike can't go wrong here. This investment will no doubt appreciate.
The guys sells pitch is a little cheesy and over the top but having said that it does look like a really nice truck, based on the brief description and the pics i'd guess it's a $2,500-$4,000 truck, you really need to see it in person to determine it's real value.
I wish I could give you a dollar number but as I'm sure you know there are SO many variables. Do you feel comfortable with the asking price? ( I'm not asking how much)

That's the thing Vern. I am a Mustang guy. I have only recently started looking for a nice Ford 4x4 truck to add to my stable of ponies.
If it were a Stang, I would know hands down if it was a good deal or not. As it stands, just based on the little bit of research I have done, I think the guy is way too proud of it, if ya know what I mean.
Looks pretty good overall. Needs a seat. Needs exhaust. Doors are cut up. No tailgate? It would be nice to see the engine bay and what the cab mounts/cab corners look like... Is it from the rust belt? Around here it's prolly 2000 to 4000 canadian...

It's realy hard to say. It looks like when he painted it he taped off the the cabin at the door seals.. Opened the doors and started spraying. It looks good but it's a little to green for me.
Wow, it's a nice truck and all but that seller is delusional, that's not a 10K truck, 4-5K tops maybe, the guy's obviously too much in love with the truck to sell it at a reasonable price.
I have more than that in mine, but I know it would be quite unrealistic to try and get anywhere near that out of it.... I think if it were me and he wasn't willing to negotiate seriously I would keep looking. That is just my under educated opinion of course.
Vern
10k is high i agree some where in 3-5k would be more like it. as i remember 390's did not come in the 4x4 the 360's did. but that is one nice green truck he has there some nice rimes on 35's would look good on that thing. just don't park it in the forest, you might lose it
It's a tough situation. I love the truck, and I am totally interested, however how do you tell a guy: "So, about the price...is that a typo or what?" LOL
Once you start to look. There are quite a phew bumpsides out there. If it's not too far away go look at it, drive it and tell him the price is just more than your comfterable with. Sit on it for a little. It won't go anywhere soon. You can get alot more truck for 10k
