If I put in the 4.10 I would be turning about 2670 RPM? How does this sound for a towing RPM range? I "think" I'm at about 2310 now. This is all in 3rd gear.
I bring this up due to the fact I was able to talk my neighbor into help in the switch. I'm also thinking about 4.30 or 4.56. I just do not want to get stuck at the top of 3rd and the bottom of 4th.
I personally am running 4.10's and think they are a good compromise for a rig that will be doing a moderate amount of towing....when I get all the bits to do my tranny swap (with double OD) I will be going to 4.30's....When I am pulling anything heavy (or with a high frontal load) I personally try to stay in the 2400 range on the flats, and closer to the 3k mark when on a hill....yeah she's screaming, but I have yet to have her drop below 45, and that was pulling a very decent grade while grossing near 20k
