Seriously? How did you ever get taken by this scam?

Let us know how the sellers of this system somehow managed to convince you that you can get around the law of conservation of energy, which states that the total amount of energy in an isolated system remains constant over time (is said to be conserved over time). A consequence of this law is that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be transformed from one state to another. The only thing that can happen to energy in a closed system is that it can change form, for instance chemical energy can become kinetic energy.

The problem with this theory is that hydrogen takes more energy to produce than it contains. Now some do argue that it changes the way the fuel burns and causes a hotter more complete burn. Again the problem with that theory is that the higher combustion temperatures will form NOX, which ties up oxygen that would otherwise be used in combustion. There are no free rides.

Yea, whatever system you had installed wont be able to output enough to even think about making a difference..

i am not out anything on this deal. they are trying to convince me that it works. i dont have anything to lose but everything to gain. i will say that i notice a seat of the pants difference in accelleration. i have only checked mileage once, i did have a 1.18 mpg increase.

Did they alter the factory tuning any? That is a very minute gain. That could be attributed to wind, driving habits, tire pressure etc etc etc

Many believe that you will drive more conservatively after getting one of these gizmos installed out of your desire to really maximize your gains. Unfortunately, that's usually the only reason you actually do get any gains. I wouldn't put it as harshly as Redford , but unfortunately he's right. Sounds real good in theory, but not when the real laws of physics are considered.

nothing is altered on any settings. they told me it would get better with time. i can also adjust the amperege at the control unit to increase the amount of hyd that it produces. i have friend running the same setup on a 03 with a v10 and he has hade mpg increase of 4mpg. i am being very consistant in my testing, cruise set on 60mph same roads everyday

i agree with you bunklash, but any thing is worth a try as long as it doesnt cost me any thing and the dealer is local so i can look him right in the eye and tell him how i feel and let him see the results too.

have you tracked your mpgs thru a full tank? how often have you tracked your mpgs in the past? i have seen mine go up and down with different stations. i know i drive a diesel but the same is true on gas engines. gas with higer alcohol content will yeild lower mpgs. not trying to rain on your parade just trying to keep your findings accurate. if you dont have a good baseline then you dont have alot to go by.

And you can tell the difference between a mileage gin from the device actually work and the engine slightly leaning out due to incorrect MAF readings. Any leanout will produce slightly more power and better economy, but the plugs and valves will take a beating as it destroys the parts of the combustion chamber that get the hottest.

I can get better gas mileage by changing stations. Sometimes you economy will change base on humidity. Too many variables, not enough science. I shop I deal with tried playing with this idea. Problem is that the amount of hydrogen produced was extremely minute. It is flameable and dangerous however, they quite playing with it after blowing up an intake.

Harsh?

Sorry if I did come across harsh, but I do seriously want to know how these companies are convincing people they can cheat when it comes to the laws of physics and energy conservation that most of us learned in high school science.

Oh, and for the initial run you may very well see a mileage gain. If you think about it, initially you are using electricity that was created before you installed the system to split the water and extract the hydrogen.

A better use for the water would be to inject small amounts into the intake stream while the engine is running. The small amount of water will not add to the combustion process but it will expand 47 times it's volume from the combustion chamber heat. This produces power and cools the combustion chamber a little, allowing a little more ignition timing. As an added benefit it keeps the combustion chamber pretty clean, like steam cleaning it. Many Air Force jets, like the B-52, use water injection to increase thrust.

Now, let me get this straight. Newbie, with 5 posts total (all of them in this thread?) gets a hydrogen system "for free" and comes here and claims improvements.

Can anyway spell "spam" ?

It would be different if one of the old-timers here did it and saw a difference, and even then, I'd question it on basic physics.

But ... why was it free? In return for promoting it every chance he gets?

At least I was honest and upfront about the Nitto tires I reviewed
