O.K. Several of you have convienced me to throw away my edge juice with attitude for the sct x3. I have been on innovative diesel and they have it for 429. not sure thats with the programs or not. What programs should i purchase with this, i want something that will be good for daily driving and yet slam my head against the head rest when i mash the throttle. is this programer easy to use? does anyone know for sure if i can keep my edge juice leave it on level 0 for monitoring and install the sct x3. If so that would save me alot of money...
no idea on the edge part of the question.
the sct is an easy deal plug in and reflash total time 15min maybe. Im happy with it so far useing acanned tune waiting for some more parts to come in before I order my custom ones.
I have 3 tunes from Eric at Innovative. Lots of usefulness(is that a word). I have a 60 hp all around street tune that I run most of the time. I really like it and average 16.8mpg. I have a heavy tow tune for dragging around my 36 foot fifth wheel that works great, turns my vgt turbo into an exhaust brake. Then for fun, I have a 125 hp extreme street tune. I only run this to show off a little. It is too much fun. I would get into trouble
He gave me what I asked for. He has some Extreme Race tunes available
X Race is a little more powerful and the converter lockup strategy is different. It's locks up right as you shift to second.
X Street is better to run around in for most guys, as it'll lock up in only the higher gears. A little more forgiving and keeps you from lugging and blowing a lot of smoke.
a good street tire will work wonders with 4wd. some guys can cut 1.7 60's on them. 2wd is a whole nother animal. street tires aren't enough. lucky to cut less than 2 second 60's with a street tired 2wd.
Dont just set the edge to 0 remove it from the programing. as in return the truck to stock. then load the sct in the truck. then you can plug the edge back in and use it for gauges. just dont load anything off of it to the trucks pcm. depending on what you do with your truck as to what tunes to buy. I would go with a heavy tow, street tune for everyday driving, and either the xstreet or xrace for when you really want to get on it. if you dont plan on more mods then I would stick with the xstreet for your high hp tune.
talked to Jody today guys and bought the sct x3 with economy tune and race tune from DP tuners will let you all know how it works of for me. Plan on keeping track of fuel mileage... Congrats you all converted me...
