Define brakes and how many miles do you have? If brake pads is all you are needing then I personally decided to go with Bendix CT-3 pads. Low dust, no noise, and slows the truck just fine. You'll fine that true of most other brands as well, just personally always tended to go with Bendix. If you don't have one, grab a micrometer or borrow one and measure the rotors. If they are still within the spec width-wise, then no need to touch them unless you are feeling vibrations from the front (which can assume warping). At that time, I wouldn't bother resurfacing mainly b/c warping is due to the inability of the rotor to absorb and dissipate heat, and resurfacing reduces the overall mass of the rotor thus reducing the rotors ability to absorb heat and it will soon warp again. The CT-3's I've found cheapest on Amazon, but in terms of brick and motar type shops, can't go wrong with the premium line at Napa.
Naw I'm like this every day, but I usually just don't include it in my posts. Every once and a while I let my humor slip though just so people don't think I'm a complete AH. I drive my wife crazy some days...she just shakes her head and walks away mutter to herself, "it never stops". I think she's going to have "It Finally Stopped" etched on my headstone.
Just replaced my front and rear brakes on a 2002 5.4 2wd expy. The old brakes were installed about 40 k miles ago by the dealer before i bought it. Rotors were in great shape. Pads were down to 25% on front and 10% on the rear. I went to auto-zone and purchased the Duralast Gold pads. Under 75 bucks for all pads. So far the braking power is great, no noise, and no vibrations . Not much difference in the brake dust, but not a problem for me. First time doing the brakes on this vehicle. Took 2 hours including a trip to get a tool to complete the job. I must be getting old and slow.
