Ok guys i wanna take the jump and put some headers on my truck...but the Headman longtubes i found that i know sounds great on the 5.0, bronco Grave yard says that they wont fit the trucks with the standard transmission. anyone know if shortys will work? or even maybe some longtubes that will work
I have flowtech long tube headers on my 88 5.0/5spd and they clear the trans just fine. My only gripe is that the collectors are just a little too low.

i know headers are a b*tch to put on but how bad were yours to put on.
personally id rather have longtubes, the only reason i was considering shortys is because my buddy has a set for a mustang that i could probally get dirt cheap..that is if they would work
I put the headers on in my driveway. Wasn't too bad. I also bought a set of arp header bolts to help with the install. They have a smaller bolt head, so they're easier to get a wrench or socket on.
I wouldn't buy the mustang headers. I know it's the same motor, but it's a totally different vehicle.
well his would have worked on his 76' if he hadnt bought some longtubes. but im just gonna look at the way my current manifold is and how much it would take to get some loungtubes in there
