Updated flashes
I had a 2003 F-250, 7.3L that got totaled a few weeks ago and know nothing about the 6.0L. What latest flashes (updates) does this diesel need and what exactly do the updates do or correct?
What can I do with this engine. On my 7.3L, I had a tune, 5" down pipe and 4" exhaust with high flow muffler (7.3L had no cats).
Thanks,
Andre'

You probably want to drop down to the 6.0 diesel forum and ask the question there for more specific answers.
I only have general knowledge of the flash changes. The ones since '05 have to do with warming the injectors to prevent sticktion of the solenoids. They had a flash which buzzed the injector coils. Then they went to an induction heating method which used the coils to warm the injector. Then they upped the current in a flash, and many suspect that this was harmful to the Fuel Injection Control Module (FICM) and caused a lot of needless repairs. The most recent flash is only a few months old, and it might be a pretty good one because it compares oil temps and coolant temps, which is an indication of a pluggled oil cooler, and it sets a fault code. I'm considering getting that one. These are all PCM related, I don't know about flashes for the other modules.
