4.6 V 8 Windsor Triton SOHC

Hello 1997 F 150, i drained the oil and it was like yogurt. I am wondering whether it could be the Lower intake manifold gasket or the cylinder head gasket.I dont see a oil cooler on the truck below the oil filter.

Also i had the drain plug off and when i pour coolant in the radiator it comes right out of the oil drain plug hole just pours right out of the drain plug hole. Is there any way i could make sure it is the lower intake or the head gasket.

Any advise will be much appreciated.

head gasket is a good bet, but no guarantee. Being 13-14 years old with a big problem like water/ oil, i would consider pulling motor and going further... oil pump, timing chain, check bearings, etc.

 

Agreed....You might want to pull the Intake and look at the gasket condition.I suggest however that it is indeed time to pull the engine,and "go through it" if the water/oil issue hasnt been prevelant for long.Otherwise Id look into a long block,or a complete reman.......Welcome to the forum.

 

I am going to install a reman motor in it, i will then check the old motor and post what exactly is wrong with it.
