54 F100 engine replacement
I have a 54 with a 6 cyl 223 engine that needs rebuilding. It runs but compression is low in all cylinders. It will cost about $3,000 to have it re-built. I can buy a re-built 6 cyl 240 ford truck engine for about $1600. The question is, will the 240 bolt up directly to my 3 speed manual transmission? If not is there any replacment engine that will? I don't want to switch to an automatic.
