canopy

Might want to try the Super Duty Forums... But all canopy (or camper shell as the rest of the country other than the Northwest calls them) manufacturers will make somthing for your truck. 8' beds are pretty easy to find something for, and Ford, being the best selling, longest lasting trucks out there, has a huge aftermarket following. I just ordered my ARE Z series for my 2010 F-150. It is pricey, but it is top of the line. You could get a generic aluminum one for a few hundred bucks if looks are not a concern. What are your needs?

I guess what my real question is that for a long time automakers would not change the size of the beds on their trucks, but now they seem to change
something on the cab or the bed so you would have to buy a special camper shell for every different truck or year you would get. My real question is,
does the same size long bed for Ford run the same size for consecutive
years or did they change sizes very often? This camper shell will be used for
going hunting and to keep stuff dry.

Ok, truck cap. Like said lots of comapnys make caps for the SD. Ford uses the same bed and cab shape on the SDs from 1999-2010 models. The 2008up models have a different tailgate but that shouldn't affect most caps out there. I have always been partial to Leer myself. For my SD I went with an Undercover hard tonneu because I wanted to be able to remove it easy and I didn't want to spend two grand on a truck cap.
