07 headlight conversion

I have a 2003 F250 and would like to convert my stock headlights to the 07 style headlights. Ive seen the ebay sets that come with the plug and play harness but I dont want to buy a ****ty setup following the old saying "do it right the first time".I dont know much about the quality of those kits but alot of stuff on ebay is junk. What setups or kits do you reccomend for this conversion. Also if you have this done can somebody post a couple pics up of it.

Thanks, Dan

Well I actually bought one of those "kits" and I dont see much difference in you buying a set of other lights and adding your own pigtail. You can even purchase the 05-07 bulk plate (if thats what you call it) so there wont be any cutting.

Here is a place that sells it all including the pigtails too but they are up there in price due to them being OEM lights.
Riffraff Diesel: 05' Ford OEM Headlights

Here is a link to the conversion, search the site as there are tons of info on this.

I got a set of 2005 Ford lamps and wrote up my install. I did a lot of research on the plugs and I found them from the manufacture. The up side to the ones I've used (and have the pns in the write up for) are they can carry 15A which is double the OE and most aftermarket sockets.

Have you had an issues with thekit from ebay leaking or fogging?? Is there much of a difference between that kit and the oem light kit?

The main difference in the kits verse OEM, is quality. What you get on egay is a japanese knock off light verse the better OEM stuff. With that said, I feel mine (the ones on egay) are just fine for my case and they look just as good. I am not trying to win truck shows, I just like the look of the newer front ends.

I have been thinking of doing this as well. My experiences with aftermarket lights is that the quality is poor compared to OEM, they do tend to leak and fitment is not 100% as good as OEM, but if you reseal the lights and are not too concerned in an extra 1/16" gap in fitment, you will be fine.

The brite box is just the conversion system, that changes your older light system to handle the H13 bulbs. You can then just plug them up and you are done.

Ah gotcha. I just saw where it said "plug and play adapter" and thought there was nothing else needed, but I assume the P&P is so that you can run your old bulbs.

Well I decided to go ahead and knock mine out and a couple hours later I am done. Along with the new 05-07 grill the headlights really make my King Ranch rock out nicely! Here are a few pics.........

Scottzj- The new grill and lights look great. Im doing some research as Im thinking of trading the vette in for a truck (not sure what year yet though, keeping options open) and if I were to get and early 2000's and def want to update the front end to the more modern style like yours.

Man, I havent been on here or posted on here in years!

Actually, the Brite Box allows you to have the high and low beams on at the same time. Thus, providing more light on the road.

Scottzj, the new look with the 'old' bumper looks GREAT! I really am not a fan of the new bumper, tho I do like the grill and lights. Very nice looking rig.

One question, I found a kit on Ebay to do the 05-07 headlight mod, but I am wondering if you have to buy any additional mounting hardware to make it work?

I found this kit and it mentions buying a couple bolts and clips, Any idea what that may refer to?

Thanks

There is nothing else needed for this mod other than trimming the header panel behind the light. Everything else is plug and play and has been working on mine for quite a while now.
