No Go.
I just purchased my Ranger yesterday and it won't get out of first or go hardly in reverse. It starts shortly after turning over and idles pretty good. Problem is that once you give it gas it dies out like it is flooded or something. I have been told to change my fuel filter and then go from there. Any other suggestions? Also, what do I need to do to change it? Bought a NAPA Gold filter and the quick disconnect tool. What next?

Check the hydraulic clutch fluid reservoir to make sure it is full. It is under the hood and is clear/white plastic. Probably mounted near the driver side hood hinge. If it won't go into reverse or first gear smoothly the clutch could be not disengaging the engine from the transmission.
