Hey all have a serious issue with my Expedition. The dealer has been no help at all on it either. I am loosing power at about 3300 RPM the engine will not go past that. I found a TB stating this same issue and the fix was re-program the computer to fix. Had that done but still having the problem. Now the engine code is saying the Catalytic efficiency below threshold. All 4 O2 sensors have been replaced prior to this coming up. Had a local muffler shop look at the cats and they look and feel to be operating in normal range.
I still have the power loss at the 3300 RPM range while driving when at wide open throttle. Now here is the kicker when in 4th or 5th gear and the pedal is pushed to the floor there is no problem the engine will accelerate up to 6000 no problem but in a lower gear or in park will not go past 3300 RPM.
Please help me figure this one out I am at a total loss here. I am going to have the cats replaced as soon as I can find someone other than the dealer who carries them.
Here is some more info I left out on the original post. It is a 2006 Expedition Limited with the 5.4L it only has 81k. I have been having this problem for about 4 months or so. I have taken it in to the dealer 3 times for this problem and now the cats are 1k out of warranty and the dealer still will not replace the cats under the warranty.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> <o></o> Can I put a MagnaFlow universal type cat in place of these? Now this is the year that Ford only used 2 cats on the emission system.<o></o> <o></o> Does anyone have any idea why I am having the wide open throttle problems? Can this all be tied to the one cat that is going bad? <o></o>
