I have a 2001 screw 4x4 5.4l 117000k miles. My question does anyone have a wireing diagram for the instrument panel. Hopefuly a pin out but anything will be better than this hayes manual lol. Problem is when i turn my key on no gauges move. Batt light is on no check engine or anything. It will crank over all day but not fire. Im Prettie sure its a bad ground. Last week this happened and 4x4low light was comming on brake light was flashing lol basicly going crazy. (ps i know its not my batt its new and terminals are on corectly lol. Plus it cranks over healty and every thing else works radio,wipes,light,ect...)

 

Whats your theft light doing?

 

It steady blinks when key is out and in the off pos. When key it turned to on pos the theft light stays off. Doesnt do anything but the steady blink in off pos then nothing when key is turned on.

 

Sorry to double post this is gonna be somewhat long. Ill explain whats been happening with this truck. Two weeks ago i go to the store i turn truck off run inside, come back out not 4 mins later and try to start the truck. It starts runs 3 sec shuts off. I try again then crank no start not even trying to start. I get a ride home thinking it could be the key cause my friend is a locksmith. I grab my spare go back truck cranks like 5 secs then finaly fires up. I drive it home and shut it off try the first key again and starts and runs fine. I figure it as some fluke and leave it alone. I goto leave for work the next day and try to start it. It fires up runs 3 sec shuts off again. Does that 2 more times and fourth try stays running fine. After work same thing 3 times it cranks and fires and dies after running 3 secs, 4th try it stays running fine. Get it home park in garage. Next night leave for work cranks stalls 3 times then 4th try just cranks over thats when i noticed my gauges not working but... My 4wheel low light was on airbag light,and odometer was not on at all. I rip dash out to check connections nothing after angerly hitting the dashboard all the check enging lights,theft light,batt,ect start flickering very fast i though ohh no its broke for sure. Try to start it for the hell of it and it fired right up gages still not working. I shut it off then it goes back to the crank no start with only 4 wheel low light on. I finaly pull out the key ignition to take off the plastic covers nothing loose there. When i slid the ignition back in everything started working perfect. ( note it was in the run pos the whole time since you need that to remove key cylinder.) Ran fine 2-3 days now this moring it starts again crank no start. This time batt light is on,airbag, Gauges have 0 responce to anthing (4wheel low is not on now) . Door agar light does not light up unless in run pos. I bought a new ignition switch earlyer and swaped out same thing so its not that. My last guess is a bad ground somewhere for the dash since the works together with the pcm.
