I drove 13 hrs. in 1 day from Fort Collins CO. to Durango CO. than to Moab Ut. I pulled my crawler on my 20' gooseneck and was pleased. this drive consisted of hills upon hills and mountain passes so I averaged 10-12 MPG's. Does that sound correct? the trailer is about 4000 lbs. so I assume that's about right considering the passes. On the same drive back, I didn't have the trailer but had the bed loaded and averaged about 18.5 MPG's. I than got nasty vibrations in higher RPM's. I don't think it's a drive line because I'll shift and vibrations go away till I reach higher RPM's again. This trip ended yesterday so today I will chek motot and tranny mounts along with the driveline. Any other suggestions?
Just looked at everything and it looks like the vibration is from the motor. All the mounts look good and the idle sounds normal but the motor is moving a bunch causing the vibration. It shakes the whole truck at idle. any thoughts
is it an auto or 5speed? if a 5spd id say possible DMF wheel going out the window, does it do it alot at idol or just romp, with 2s and high RPMS id say your poor hpop is working overtime, mabe cuasing a miss
I'll take pictures of mine today so others on here who are dumb like I was know what the DMF is, and how it works. sorta. Best I can explain I suppose.
