All I have is the 4 pin that has the T connector right now. I found a factory tow package connector and would like to add this to my truck, but don't know what all is needed to make it work. Can I plug this into my factory wiring and have it work correctly, or do I need more parts?
It looks like it has 1 connector with 4 pins for the lights and 1 with 3 pins. What does it plug into and if it connects to the lights how the lights connect back to it?
The short answer is no you can not use it unless you have the towing package with the two relays next to your engine compartment fuse box that looks like this.
As far as what it plugs into here what the wiring along the frame looks like if you have the package in the diagram below. If you do not have the relays you are missing the all wires, relays and plugs from the fire wall to the back bumper.
I was under the impression that my truck originally had the towing package. It has super or heavy duty cooling and the power steering line that is longer to help cool it, and a transmission cooler. I'll look and see if I have those relays. I don't think I do though.
Here is what I have, so I guess I don't have those relays. I don't have those connectors either. Are they related to the trailer electrical as well?
Is the best choice to just get a trailer brake controller and a whole new setup?
You all ready have the trailer wiring in the cab but it ends at the fire wall connector.
You will need a brake controller with or with out the factory trailer wiring.
What I did as my truck came out like yours from the factory was I when to a salvage yard and got the wiring harness from the fire wall to the back of the truck along with the two relay box from another 1995 F150.
Then swapped it out with my trucks wiring and installed the relay box, the plugs from the engine compartment fuse box was already there as is with yours.
I then when to a trailer store and bought the controller plug pig tail that plugs in under the center of the dash. Wired the pig tail to the controller and it all worked.
The pig tail for the dash C210, you will need this what every way you go.
I always wondered what that connector under the dash was for.
I'll try to peice it together. I don't need it often, but I do occasionally pull trailers that have brakes and it would be nice to be able to use them.
Note that the blue brake wire from that connector under the dash stops at the firewall connector C205 pin #2.
But the rest of the wires in that connector under the dash are good to go.
I have a 94.5 F350 with a powerstroke in it and I need to do the same thing. My truck doesn't have the trailer package either. My question is does the harness have to come from a diesel and from the same year?Or will a harness from any 92-97 F series work?

Thanks....
You need to get the harness from a Diesel F-series truck as the harness also contains the wiring for the fuel selector valve and different plugs for the tank senders. The pins in the dash connector are also different. It should also come from a truck with the same inch wheel base for plug and play.
But if you get a wiring harness from a gas truck of the same wheel base you can do as I did also and lay out the two wiring harness side by side and mix and match wires and move pins in the dash plug. These wire harness run from the fire wall to the back bumper.
As far as the two relay box and its wiring it should be the same on both trucks.
If you need more help with this and diagrams just email me and I will try to help you out. My email address is at the bottom of this post.
Subscribed, will need some guidance also with pics when I go out today.
My truck is set up for towing, but I see some messed up wiring under the rear area...I have no idea how it's supposed to work, or even if it still work.
Does your truck have connection for trailer brakes?
Gona look today, but no joke i could feal the stopping difference in the 6x12 uhaul trailer with brakes. than the 6x10 with non brakes, these trailers were fully loaded with band gear at the time.
Most u-haul trailers have surge type brakes, great setup for rental type trailers. Nothing from the tow vehicle needed to activate them other then the act of slowing down and or stopping.
