Can the fuel bowl heater cause the truck to stop running while driving?
I have ordered my own AE and should be here 3-24-10 so I will do the ICP,IPR test then. Does anyone know what I should look for. ICP pressure 500psi or above but what about the IPR duty cycle %. I also plan on pulling the IPR and cleaning it maybe tonight. Just need to find my 1 1/8 deep socket to do it.

Your IPR maxing out at 64% is a good sign, or at least it's being commanded to max out in the right range. Have you tried unplugging the ICP and starting? Have you checked for any codes lately?
With an ICP below 500 psi, you will not start. The easy things to check first will be the wiring to the IPR and ICP to make sure there are no chaffed wires or brittle insulation. Also make sure the tin nut on the back of the IPR is snug and the soleniod isn't loose.
If you can find the parts, the next step really should be to block off 1 head at the HPOP (disconnect one hose from the HPOP and plug that line), then install a mechanical gauge in the head that is still connected and see how much pressure you can build on that head. You might want to unplug the CPS for this test or pull a fuse so the truck doesn't accidentally start on one bank. If you find one head builds good pressure and the other doesn't, it's likely bad injector o-rings on the weak side.
Of course try unplugging the ICP sensor first to see if that works. Also maybe see if your friend will let you swap any more parts around. If he's willing, I'd do that with the IPR before I threw money at one as a guess.

So went ahead a took out the IPR tonight. It was really dirty. cleaned it up and Put it back in the truck and now for the first time in 5 years it started right up even at a temp of 33 degrees.
IPR duty cycle was high at first 20% and stettled down at 9%
ICP was at 1000psi and settled down at 500psi
ICP volts at .74
MAP at 12.9
Thanks for all your help Im sure I will be back. Truck is running smoother than ever. Thanks Clay at RiffRaff for the AE...

SO just to make sure it ran I tried it again this morning and it was 25 degrees out and it fired right up first try. I have been fighting the cold temp and not starting for years, it was easier to just plug it in, but I did the normal test, glow plugs replacing the glow plug and relay. I gave up. So for now I would tell people out there to clean up the IPR next if you have a cold start issue and it runs rough when warm. Cause if you dont years latter it will just shut down on you and the your scratchin your head. The good thing it led me to the IPR after this last time around. I also want to thank F350-6 for his help.
See YA next time....Cuz trucks don't run for ever.....
