5.8l squeaking
whats goin on guys my 96 5.8 engine is squeaking horribly and i believe it is the a/c compressor i replaced the idler pulley and that didnt really help much so my question is can just replace the pulley on the compressor or clutch or do i have to buy the whole thing any info would be greatly appreciated like i said its pretty embarassing on how loud the squeaking is

Then it might not be the A/C compressor or clutch, when the ac is off the clutch freewheels, its main shaft not spinning.
When the ac is on the clutch is no longer freewheeling, it and its main shaft both spin as one.
So one way or the other, A/C on or off the squeak should stop unless the clutch is froze up and the compressor itself is the source of the squeak.
Have you used a larger screwdriver as a stethoscope on it, checking each component for the source of the noise?
If not use one and put the large bunt end of the handle against your ear, touch the blade end to everything listening for what squeaks.
