My AC compressor is starting to squeak. Can anything be done to fix it besides replacing the pump? Can it be lubed up, or change out the bearing, or repack the bearing?
theres no repacking bearings for them. its all internal. you can TRY to get a can of oil charge from your local auto parts store. they are around 8oz. is it still r12 or converted to 134a already? that will make the difference on that oil charge. you sure its your pump and not just the clutch?
then it's the bearings the belt pully rides on. Buy the clutch set and you'll be alright. If you can that is. Not sure if you can with the older pumps unless you get it straight from ford
