brake pad suggestions

I'm new here as of about five minutes ago but I work for a construction company with about 10 super dutys and we seem to have the best luck with factory ford pads.

I tried Monroe's on the front last time I changed them, so far so good, no squeal, no filthy wheels.

About a year ago I went with the Hawk pads/Powerslots based on them being highly recommended on this site.

Last nigt I put them to the test. Deer jumped out in front of me. Felt like we were going to go through the windshield but no dead deer and no damaged truck. Much improvement over the stock rotors/pads.

I got all stock pads and rotors on my super cab and my dads got hawk super duty pads all around with stock rotors on the back and turned cryos on the front in his CC. His brakes are much better than mine and don't fade near like the OEs on my lighter truck do under the same conditions. When they got some heat into the pads they bit even harder, not so with my OE stuff. The OE pads seem to wear long and don't dust too bad but they are not the best performers IMO.

I've been told brakes don't work that much different than others some may last alittle longer but that may be all the extra $$ you'd be paying for

I've been using Wagner Severe Duty brake pads for the last 5 years and they've never done me wrong. Best part is the lifetime warranty from O'Reilly Auto.

+1, Gotta agree with Jason. I just installed the same combo F & R,, and I should have done it sooner.

So, the only casualty was your underwear?

'll be using the Hawk Pads and Powerslot rotors when the front brakes wear out on my rig.

Hawk pads and Powerslot cryo rotors. They are WAY better than OEM parts.

I have the Carquest severe duty pads and they were a huge improvement over the stock pads. No fade. I used Wagner rotors with the lifetime guarantee against warping etc.
