I have read all the post on FICM replacement, just thought id add my two cents worth. I am a aircraft mechanic and the first thing we do is remove anything in our way. So with that mind set i dug in; first i drained the anti-freeze down and completly removed the remote resevior. then i removed the air filter assy. This allowed me full access to the FICM, i was able to get a pneumatic driver in there and removed the four nuts. I then was able to lift the FICM off the mounting studs and unplug the three cannon plugs. I inspected those three plugs for loose pins, chaffing, all was good. I simple reveresed the process to install the new one. One thing i did to make connecting the three plugs easer was to place my fist on the head, line the plug up and with the other hand push the FICM down onto the plug. The hardest part of the job was puting the damn filter back in,hahahahahahah
starts about the same, alittle faster. it was about twenty five here this morning and truck was not plugged in. Did clear the P0611 code, still have one for fan speed sensor, sure thats just another problem

If everything is good, you shouldn't have to plug the truck in at 25.
you bet ya, when i send my old one back i will get a 60 day warranty. i might just keep mine so i can re-float the solder and have one ready it this one i just put on goes bad. That to me seems like a better warranty, have one on hand.
forgot to mention i bought a rebuilt FICM from ebay, cost me 385. saved me about seven hundred bucks from the dealer..
just a word of caution about ebay, just recently had a bad experience with ebay on a purchase where even though the purchased item had the ebay "buyer protection plan" ebay fail to back it up when put to the test. Seems sellers can make any claim they want for the item they sell including lie about what it is or what condition it maybe in. Their potection plan is more like a seller protection plan, buyer beware and know your seller! Moral of the story is shoping on ebay is like going to Vegas.
Rebuilt FICM can be purchased from our discount dealers for around $450, seems more of a sure thing unless one's into gambling on ebay! LOL.

I have sold a lot of stuff on EBay and canot agree with you EBay will stick it to the seller everytime!!!!! I have sold parts and had the buyer remove the internal parts and put in their bad parts send it back saying it wasn't any good EBay doesn't care they will take the money out of your account. EBay is for the buyer period!!! This can go on for 45days even if you sell as is no warranty John

Would have fully agreed with you until I got the shaft from ebay customer support where the seller lied himself silly on the item description, there are many posts about the problems with ebay and lacking customer support. Just search the net no need to drag this problem in detail here, just remember know your seller and everyone BEWARE on ebay it maybe cheaper in the long run to buy from one of our reputable discount dealers.
I just ordered a reman from swamps diesel for $350. They charge a $300 core but you will get that back as soon as you send the core in. Mine should be here in 3 days.
i was going to get one from swamps but was turned off by the seven hundrud dollar charge. understanding i would get my money back with the return of the core. I plan on keeping the one i have to repair it and have one on hand for the future if this one goes bad. I have only one bad experience with ebay, i sold a stock suspension system and was never paid for it and ebay did nothing to help out. knock on wood hope my latest experience goes well. let me know how the one you bought from swamps works out. Did you get the 52v mod?
I did not get the 52v mod. The way I see it, no one knows the effects on injectors by upping the output voltage of the FICM. I would like to believe my injectors are in good shape right now, and if so, I would like to keep it that way. I just hope my trucks starts when this thing arrives.
