im new to this site can anyone help me? I just bought an 05 350 crew cab dually. i currantly get about 11-14mpg......awfull i would like to see closer to 20mpg can anybody tell me what i should do...i currantly have everything stock on the truck.
do you have anything done to your truck. Exhaust and tuner will help make sure you get some gauges with the tuner. other then that is the same as any other vehicle, correct air pressure in the tires, dont be mashing the go peddle everywhere. I keep mine at 1800-1900 rpms cruising.
Other then that having a dually your gonna be behind the power curve those extra tires are gonna eat some MPG's with the extra weight of the crewcab also is gonna hurt your MPG.
Sorry. Congrats on the new truck! Bad thing is that 14-15 is about your average, that is what I see too (2003 F-350 crew cab 4X4 6.0L). Biggest thing you can do to increase mileage is to adjust your driving habits. Also proper service is key not only to extend the life of the truck but also a tank of gas. Keep the truck serviced properly and keep the tires inflated correctly. Wish there were better news, if you find a way to make 17-20MPG please let me know.
