Transmission Problems
Figured I'd move this under a new heading and see if I get any new ideas.
My wife has a '95 Shorty 3.0L with the A4LD.
Had it rebuilt a couple of years back and this winter starting having problems.
When the tranny was cold, when you first started off for the first few feet it would feel like you were towing a VERY heavy load. After a few seconds it would feel like something released and then it would shift/drive fine.
A couple of weeks ago, this became a permanent condition. She drove home from work and as she was backing into our driveway, the tranny suddenly feels like it is under extremely heavy load. The van will barely move in any gear. Gas pedal on the floor and the van will creep forwards/backwards.
Brakes and rear end have been eliminated as possible causes.
It is the tranny. Tranny fluid color/smell/level is fine.
