Hello everyone, I am looking for some help here. I own a 2002 f-150 supercrew 4wd 4.6 liter. The cigarette lighter/accessory plugs in the dash are not functional. I have checked all the fuses and none are blown. If anyone has any ideas or solutions I would appreciate it.
When i installed my CB radio, i put it in the accessory plug and accidentally shorted out some wires on my CB and it blew the fuse. Check your fuse bos under the hood, near the next to the brake master cylinder and the air filter housing. Double check the fuses, just in case. If your not sure about the fuse, just throw in a new one. Sometimes helps to try.
I don't know if you have a blown fuse but take a good look into the outlets.
The ligher socket is not made for use as an external power source. It's different.
The fuses are in the engine bay box. Keep track of where you pull them from.
It's easy to tell if one is blown by looking at it's element compaired to a good fuse.
The CB plug may have a fuse in it's body.
