i got me some new bronco bucket seats today at the junkyard, and was just curious how to bolt them into my 79 f250 truck. I know i need to drill holes, but not usre if i need to fo thru the floor or not and what size bolts that i need
I would guess looking at the stock seat bolts, they should go through the floor. I think. When I took my seat out, I'm pretty sure the bolt was through the floor
I put bucket seats in my 77 dent and i just drilled through the floor and fabricated brackets. I used 1/2" grd 8 bolts with washers and nylocks. They will never come out..lol.
Just make sure you check under the truck before you drill so that you dont hit anything. Also make sure you have the seats level and exactly where u want them. I put mine in temporarily using wood blocks and then i sat in both seats just to makes sure.
what year of bronco seats? mine are from an early 80s that i use for every day in my 79 s/c the fellow i bought them from used the stock bench tracks, welded 3/4"x3/4" square tubeing to them [front and back] and bolted the buckets on to them stock seat tracks bolt to the stock holes in the floor very clean setup then i used a set of spare tracks from my granada bolted them to the buckets and now i have "double slideing" seats that will go allmost to the dash to access the rear area and if i could ever figure out how to post pics here i would show [maby drag&drop of some sort?]
I have original buckets from a 78 Bronco that I'll be putting in my 79 but the passenger bucket is non adjustable meaning it's in a fixed position. The only thing it does is there is a lever at the back that tilts the seat forward for easy access to the back seat in the Bronco... I find that weird that it won't adjust forward or back..
