Heater on '99

Hello,

I live in Texas and recently bought my 1st diesel, a '99 F-250 4x4 CC Lariat. It has not started on a couple of cold mornings (in the 20s) and have been told that I need to plug it in by other diesel owners. The problem is I cant find the plug for the heater. I know where it is supposed to be but have been unable to locate it.

I guess my question is, was this feature standard on the '99 model like mine? If so, any info on how to locate this plug would be helpful. I am also replacing the batteries which are the originals and was told that this would also help.

Thanks alot and I look forward to participating in this forum!

I would test the glow plugs and relay.
Your diesel shouldn't have any problems at 20 degrees without the block heater.
My 02 has been sitting at night at 8 degrees without the heater and sits all day at work with highs this week of 16-20 and barks right up with one cycle of the plugs.
Your plug should be behind the driver side tow ring or behind the driver side fog light if you have them.
