ive searched that truck, who knows maybe im blind, but its really getting cold now so weve decided to plug this thing in so could someone tell me where this thing is?
It should be behind the bumper right by the driver's side tow hook. It might be zip tied back there and can be a pain to get out. It has a cover over the plug
It may be behind the driver's side battery. That's where mine was and I had to run it down behind the front bumper. If it's not behind the front bumper, start looking around the battery.

Yeah, I was lucky bought the truck iin Sept. and lifted it 2 weeks later. When I removed the bumper I saw it was all tied up and cut all the ties and put it right by the tow hook.
i found it thanks guys. im such a moron although i needed a flash light. i was looking inside the grill and in the bumper... where was it?? right behind the bumper sitting there tied up neatly in an accesable position. i found it and slapped my head and started laughing so thanks guys
Glad you located yours, I have a 2003 6.0 and the plug is behind the passingers side tow hook hole. The problem is if you have a tow hook in that hole it can make it hard to get at. It is up and to the right of the hole, wire tied to a cross member. When you do cut the wire tie holding the cord it still may be a little short so you may have to reach in and cut the cord off the cross member. This is harder to do and I have not got that far yet.
Thanks I found mine just to the left of my tow hook driver side. I figured that my truck was from Ca that it did'nt have a block heater. when should i use it? or when should'nt I use it ? what does it heat I've seen the element in my fuel filter.
The block heater plug runs to a heater element in the oil cooler on the drivers side of the engine. It heats the water in the oil cooler. I use mine at about 25F, but some people use it at 50F and some at 0F. No matter how you do it, it won't heat up the cab any faster.
