Just bought a '59 C-600 - now what ?
Cool Dennis Check out that website I mentioned. It lists any local antique truck shows. April 25th, Lakeside Sand and Gravel, Frost Rd in Mantua. I plan on having my 60 f350 there. The gravel pit has a 35 or 36 ford dump they run around during the show hauling and dumping stone and dirt. They've got tons of old machinery there too, and they run a lot of it.
To the original poster, when you get to the brakes, there is some info on brake bleeding and some basic troubleshooting in the Tech Folder https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...ch-folder.html
If your truck has the dual wheel cylinders on the rears, this can help you.

The C-Series had pretty much the same body from 1957 up thru 1987 so parts are out there. Many firetrucks still use the C-Series and mechanical replacement parts are easier to get than you'd think. Ford had planned to discontinue the C-Series in 1984 but so many fire departments complained that they ran production a few more years.
My 1966 C-750 has air brakes so no help for you there.
As to gassing up and going... you'll love the view setting up high and with the snub nose...! Great turning radius also. Does your truck have power steering ?

OP's made only 3 posts and they are on this thread. He last visited here April of 2010. Not uncommon. Don't stay up late looking for a reply....
