hey anyone got a picture of the light socket that supposed to go here or what it looks like or maybe a part number for one, im sick of waiting for the dealer to get one in and want my lights to work.. but there is no sockets..
heres a pic from the backside..
also i noticed that brake light sockets are replaceable on the excursions, anyone know what the part number is for them, one of mine works when it wants to..
I had bought one of those overhead thingy on ebay a while back because my Ex was missing the sunglasses holder. The one I bought came from an Expedition. Swaped it out and had it sitting around with the light sockets, rear AC switches, trip computer/compass...the works. I had paid $45 for it. Turned it around and sold it Craigslist for $60 to someone that needed those sockets cause the old ones burned out on him and to replace it, he had to buy the whole overhead from the stealership at $600 or something like that.
I would try a local auto junk yard for old Expedition or Excursion with those overhead. Lucky for you, you don't need to color match the trim with this. You'll find your brake light sockets there as well. You can bargain and pay $50 for both. Good luck.

u have a picture so i can see what the overhead sockets look like?
ok as a dummy i thought it was the socket because i would pull the bulb and bend the tabs in a little and put the bulb back in the taillight socket and it would work, but this time i looked at it again and the stoplight element inside the bulb was flopping around a little and not touching the other side and sometimes it would touch and sometimes it wouldnt, so it was the bulb this entire time!
still loooking for overhead console sockets though.
I can't insert a photo in the message board. It asks me for an URL. Give me your email address and I can send you a photo of what those are suppose to look like. They're metalized (chrome) plastic domes/*****. I took a photo of it before I sold it when I listed on Craigslist.
I took some photos on mine. There's a gray socket where the bulb attaches to. Your right ribbon connector looks like it was broken.
well it was the right style! but the diameter was a little to small causing it to light up when i held it in but not stay in on its own the ones i tried were dash lights out of my 70's ford.
is there supposed to b e 3 lights in the overhead?? i only see the 2 missing sockets in mine, but this one from recon looks like it has 3 lights in it!
