Hello, I have a 2005 F-250 with about 140K on the engine. I have owned it since new. No mods. ERG replaced about 30K or so ago, but no other problems. The last week or so I have noticed a lack of power initially after warming up and starting to drive the truck. .White smoke comes out of the tailpipe while under way and there is noticeable lack of power in the engine under 2K RPMs. After a mile or two the smoke stops and the engine seems to run like normal. I have fairly new fuel filters installed, but am getting close to being due an air filter. I bought the Ford extended warranty, but wanted any advice before losing the truck for a few days or couple of weeks at the dealer.
While I do not post very much, I can't thank everyone enough for the education I have received over the years from reading the forums. Thanks and take care, David

How do you know it is "almost" due an air filter?
Does the initial white smoke have a smell?
Are you losing any coolant level in the degas bottle?
Has your fuel economy dropped?
Any intake or exhaust leak?
What oil do you use?
Have you had the latest flash update (or at least a recent one)?
Did you clean the EBP tube and MAP sensor hose when the EGR valve was replaced?
When the oil was last changed was there any odor of fuel?
