Well for a while now i have been wanting a lift fot my truck and some new mud tires. but after almost losing a race today, i said almost it didnt happen, it got me bent on wanting more power and holding of on the lift. a lift and new tires comes to about 3 grand but i could buy a lot of new pretty parts for that much, i just want the usual stage I's, adrenaline, D66, 4" exuast etc etc. so i need some help deciding. I could also use coons help finding the right skyjacker kit but i havent seen him on here in a while. thanks blake.
avoid skyjacker. my trucks not a diesel but i saw about the lift in the title. my springs(skyjacker 6") barely flex or move at all even after 30,000 miles
yea you can never have to much power thats for sure. and idk i have heard a lot of good things about skyjacker and bad about other lilft kits like tuff country and such. i am going to lose my mind over this one, i cant decide which to do. i want both but cant afford them with college. a tuff looking lifted truck with a headache rack, toolbox and winch bumper would be great. but putting out 350 horses and black smoke would be great too.
well there are a lot of smaller mods you can do to increase hp and still do the lift. and for the injector rosewood sells do it yourself injector rebuild and upgrades and there not to expensive to go to stage 1. instead of d66 you can always go the cheaper route and get an A/R 1.00 housing and a good custom chip and still make plenty of power and smoke if you so choose. downpipe and exhaust, bb fpr mod and your set man. you wont make the most power in the world but more than enough to still show off turning them big tires.
You know I am kinda biased on this one. Vvvrrroooomm Vroomm.
That is where I would put my money. Then again I put out over 400 hp and my truck looks bone stock except for the 4" exhaust which is hidden pretty well.
I like a go fast truck that nobody expects better than a show truck.
My dream sleepr: A rust bucket '76 with a 12 valve pushing 800 horses.
I was in the same situation last year. Went with a 6" lift instead of power. I sometimes wish I wouldve went with a power upgrade, but then again my trans wouldnt last long and that wouldve been way out of budget. Then again sometimes I wish I wouldve saved my money. Its a tough choice to make, but for me Im happy I went with the lift. Gets alot of attention. And the girls like it. Im not sure what else you could ask for
yea a 4" lift and some 35 DC mud country tires are what im after and im leaning towards a lift again cuzz i've never had a lifted truck or a truck i could take mudding, and i have more stock power and torque than most anything out there. but down the road this summer when im earning 4 times as much as i am now some power adders will be in order.
Blake, in my opinion, I would do the lift and do some of the smaller power mods available like the fpr shim, exhaust, that 1.00 housing would be pretty cool, and diy stage 1's dont cost that much. So if it were me, do your lift first, then build the power as you can.
Yea i think i am going to do the lift and those smaller mods like you guys said, exaust, FPR, Mag-hytec trans and diff pans, trans cooler and what ever i can afford next. and yea i think it is a wise desicion to do the lift at one time not corner by corner lol. the problem is that i cant do the lift myself since my driveway is a gravel hill and my truck barely squeezes into my garage as is. so i have to take it somewhere to get it done and offroad or shwabs idk yet.
Mike i have always wanted to go to the south so yea what the h@ll and maybe try some white lightning haha. and james im just doing 4" i was thinking about 6" but thats to much for me i think. and i've already got before pics and will definetly take after pics. and for majoring in computer hardware engineering for the life of me i cant load a picture on here lol.
