Early Model 1999
Sounds like a chain being shaking around under the hood. The truck runs great. I have replaced the belt pully's still have the sound. Could the bearings be going out on the turbo? No smoking are oil problems around the turbo. Could it be the idler pully?
Is this the normal motor sound?
This is my first 7.3 and my first Ford.

Are you sure its not the torque converter? Common issue on the 99's. Pull the intake off and grasp the end of the turbo shaft and try to wiggle it- there should be a slight amount of side to side play (not enough to let the wheel hit the housing) and NO in and out play. Also be sure to come down to the 99-03 7.3L forum and peek around for more info.
