Ok, well now that I finally got my truck back up and running I have a new problem! If it sits over four or so hours it will not start its like it loses either oil or fuel pressure, but thats the least of my worries. When the tranny cooler in my radiator went out and over heated my truck at such a rapid rate, it cracked my block on the passenger side between my freeze plugs. So I found another motor 114,000 miles '02 model for $2850 is that a good price?
Kinda steep unless it includes everything and is absolutely perfect. Used motors can be had easily for under $1000 on Craigslist if you look hard enough. Or there is always the partsguyed.com/Riffraff "OEM BABY!" version with a warranty.
IIRC you can get a fully built short block from WOP for around 8500. thats the route i would go....
when i say fully built i mean billet rods balanced and blueprinted girdle and all the stuff to make over 800 ponies and blow your block up kinda stuff.......
Some in this forum have used Tidewater Engines, at around $3,500 (fully assembled long block with warranty) or Riff Raff at around $5,000 also fully assembled long block with warranty. KwikkorDead just put in a RiffRaff engine recently.
Im not sure what I want Im definately tired of all the issues im having with mine, with only 175,000 miles. I definately want something with low miles and preferebly with a warranty. I bought the truck almost 3 years for 15,000 and have put over 7,000 in repairs, its getting kinda old!
I was going to suggest Tidewater Engines but somebody beat me to it. They are $3100 I believe for a blueprinted and balanced fully build long block with warranty. Their reputation is growing, especially over on PSN. When I get to that point that is the route I will most likely take as they are in Virginia.
How do i go about researching the Tidewater Engines, I want to see what kind of warranty and that? I really apprecaite what this forum does, cause i could have easily bought that engine and been right back where im at in a year.
