yeah, your going to need a new sending unit.
try amazon.com they have motorcraft senders reasonable.
the lines are going to split open at any time due to rust:
they don't come with the pickup though (unless you want to spend 300+ lol.stupid i know.)
so everyone just makes their own tube.
the good tank i just picked up at the salvage yard (23 gal poly front) has a nice looking pickup in it.
i now see what is missing from the one in my rear tank.
the problem is,if they dont come with top section like galute says, your gunna be in trouble.
if you try and clean those tubes i can almost promise you will puncture them,by looking at it in the pic.
amazon shows a pic of the whole assembly, however very, very often their descriptions and pics are incorrect.i always research my parts and get the model number before ordering from them.
great prices, but iv learned that your on your own when ordering from them.they must have loads and loads of returns.you would think they would hire people to research they're products and write descriptions rather than paying shipping on returns.it must be cheaper for them though or they wouldn't still be in business.

Hi - I tried looking up the Ford motocraft part numbers and had no luck. the local ford dealer stated they don't give out part numbers. Can anyone suggest where i can look up (Ford) part numbers?
Here's what i'm looking for:
1988 F250 xlt, extended cab, 7.3 l, 4x4
Sending unit rear:
Sending unit midship:
(btw: the sending unit is available for the rear: $220.00, but no longer available for the mid ship.)

LMC Truck lists the diesel sending units in their catalogs, however I have no idea if it's actually the right part.
Unfortunately, this is one of the few parts for these trucks that isn't readily available. It isn't even listed for the 94-97 Strokers either, and one from one of those would probably do the trick.
