I need to get new brakes for my 2000 F250 CC SB. I have 35's on it and I do pull some good size loads. what should I put on it? Thanks for the help.

There are lots of after market rotors and pads out there, but, I went back with OEM FORD rotors and pads. The reason I did that was because the originals lasted me 117,000 miles and were not completely gone. I also tow heavy loads.

I would either go back to stock:

www.partsguyed.com

or Powerslots:

I concur with RiffRaff, although I went the other direction and have cryo treated rotors front and rear. Truck stops great but for the money OEM is your best bang for the buck.

I also did cryo'ed PowerSlots/Hawk pads up front. Rears are still stock at this time. I'm happy with them -- just make sure you break them in CORRECTLY. I almost rear-ended someone when I needed to stop short right after putting them on. I *thought* I broke them in...

Sounds good so how does it stop with the cryo Power Slots and Hawk pads up front?

For these SuperDuty rigs, all I'll have up front are the cryo treated Powerslots and Hawk pads. I just put a set on my 250 and have been running a set on my wife's Excursion for well over 3 years now.

Last year I had a 18-wheel tractor-trailer rig literally run me off the road and onto the left shoulder, just as we approached a short overpass bridge. He decided to change lanes from the number 2 lane to the number 1 lane (right lane to the left lane) as I was passing him!

I just stood on the brake pedal and steered left. I really didn't wanna hit the guard rail of the bridge that was coming up fast, but I had no choice. I was halfway between the front of the trailer and the rear of the trailer, still passing the guy at a higher rate of speed than he was traveling, when the idiot driver made his move.

The front end of the Ex dove so deep I thought for sure I was gonna scrape the front bumper, or at least do a reverse wheelie!

Just as the trailers rear bumper cleared my front end, I was able to swerve back into the lane and avoid the guard rail.

I was so pissed off at the guy I screamed at him for a good half mile, letting him know how stupid he was.

So, yeah, the cryo'd rotors and Hawk LTS pads are a great combo.

I cannot top Stewarts story, but I just recently redid my brakes at 100,000 miles and there was still a lot of pad left.
I went with Ford OE pads and aftermarket (forget the brand right now) rotors.

I'm still on my OEM rotors but after 135,000 miles, I was told they'll need to be replaced before this inspection coming up in August, they are shot, rusted out. I have free lifetime replacement from Auto-zone, the Duralast pads so its kinda tough to beat free replacement. I was thinking of upgrading to the Powerslots and Hawks from Clay, haven't decided yet.
