just picked this truck up yesterday for $1700. its a 1977 f250 with a 429 c6 np205 dana 60s front and rear. first things first i took off the L&L ladder bars and im taking the body lift off asap other than that its really clean inside and out. heres a crappy cell pic i took.
it was on craigslist and it was in town so i decided i was gonna look at it just for the hell of it. i saw it and wanted it after seeing it had a d60 front. so i scrounged the money and trailered it home that same day.
heres what the guy said it needed:
*needs new carb ( i fired it up it runs good but it leaks a little gas)
*radiator leaks (i have a spare super cooler laying around)
*transfer case needs rebuild because it pops out ( after removing the body lift today it works flawless)
*needs new suspension (one of the shocks was loose)
*needs motor mounts he gave me the l&l motor mounts to put in ( motor mounts are fine but the ones he gave me are what i need for my other truck to swap my 460)
*needs new tires ( i already sold these wheels way to wide for me so im just gonna get some 16s and 35s)
i pulled the bed off today and im gonna undercoat the frame and install another gas tank that i have so it can have two tanks again. i pulled the whole booger wiring harness for the "stereo system" he had in it. ill take more pics when i get a chance. thanks for the compliments im building this truck for my dad so he can have one once again.
HOLY SMOKES.... That truck looks great, especially for the price. I was looking at a 73 F250 up here that's in no where that good of shape and the guy won't come down below the $3000 mark.
thanks for all the comments. i removed the truck bed cleaned the frame and i am undercoating it. i will take more pics and post them when i get a chance
here are some more recent pics.
and of course it was a monday and i ended up messing up the bed pretty good. I had a spare bed i was gonna scrap so popped the bedside panel off and i took it to my body guy and it will now have the side toolbox and it will have a spray on liner.
