I don't know that it's all that expensive. People pay $5000 for a jet ski that they only use one season a year. I don't know how much a snomobile is but I imagine it is close to $5000.

That does seem like a lot, I think a good road bike cost around $2-3k. But its nothing compared to a snowmobile, a good snowmobile is around $11-12k that's almost the cost of a car and you'd use it depending on your location probably 4-5 times a year.
