Just lifted my 78 f250 about 10 inches, and I need bigger shocks, and something to make the steering work (temporary, im not ready to switch to crossover yet). As for the shocks, Id rather just get bigger shocks and not make/move the mounts. Problem is, I cant find big enough shocks, or a steering drag link for more than 4" of lift. Can anyone help me?
Exactly how did you lift it 10 inches?? Superduty springs?? Anyways, for the shocks you will need to convert your stud mounts to eye mounts. Or at least just the bottom mount. No-one makes a double stud shock long enough. If you can't weld, you can buy bolt on adapters. Then you can order a shock in whatever length you want.
For the steering, you need to get a raised steering arm, and a dropped pitman arm. Then re-drill the steering arm so that you can run the drag link on TOP of the steering arm instead of UNDERNEATH it. Use a drag link from bulletproofsteering.com. Do NOT use one of the so-called "drop" draglinks. If you STILL don't have enough drop, add a spacer for the steering arm.
