pcv valve vacuum line

pcv valve vacuum line
Just to double check to make sure I have it going to the right place....Where does the pcv valve from my passenger side valve cover vacuum line go to? We have it running to the back of my carb. I always thought it was weird, but my friend swears up and down that's where it goes. That's where I've been running it for a year now. Why does it go there?

Every one I've ever seen had the PCV line running to the base of the carb. There should be a hose connected to the other valve cover that runs to the air cleaner. I believe the combination of these two things makes up the PCV circuit and provides a path for vapor flow...
