How much do you think a reputable gargage would charge to put exhaust manifolds on my 95 F150, 351w. The left one is definately leaking. I would buy the manifolds and put original back on.......
Are you saying that you have aftermarket headers now, and are wanting the stock exhaust manifolds back on?
Where is the manifold "leaking" from - the gasket? A crack? Broken stud / loose?
If headers are already installed and aren't broken, just get new gaskets and swap them out - not a difficult job at all. Headers are generally preferred for looks and performance. If a shop has to get in there and retrofit stock manifolds, there will likely be some fabrication, which is where it will get expensive. And which is why you won't get a cheap estimate.
Its not that involved of a project. Just unbolt the Y pipe on both sides and let it hang down a little and then unbolt the manifolds. Be careful you don't snap off any of the bolts in the heads. I would spray PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench on them several times over a few days before trying to remove the bolts. You may want to get a set of gaskets to ensure they seal back up. I like Percy's seal 4 good. Don't get your plug wires mixed up.
