The best thing to do is have someone with a timing meter adjust it, but you can play with it. There are three 9/16 nut,s holding the IP on that you loosen, twisting it to the passenger side advances it, drivers side retards it, just a little goes a long way here, it doesn't take much. I usually move it a line width at a time and try it. You want it to have that power stroke rattle with the cold advance on and quieten down when off. That is about the best you can do by ear.
Always tighten it back up before cranking it.
alright, I loosened the 3 nuts and did all I could to twist it to the right is there a secret to moving the ip? Or could it just be bottomed out that way? There are 2 lines on top that are pretty close to being in line with each other.
Moving the IP will only change the time of the injection event, it will do nothing to change the amount of fuel you are using. To change the fuel you have to access the fuel screw inside the IP and you can change the idle speed with the idle screw.
