Hey Guys and Gals havent been on in a while due to different things but ran into this problem and wanted to see what yall thought.....Yesterday on the way home from ATL,stopped to fill up and a bite to eat and noticed as I was leaving the parking lot a slight rubbing noise coming from the left front of the truck(Didnt hit any holes or anything of the sort) I initially thought that it may be the plastic rubbing off the wheel well so I looked there but thats not it ....I checked everything to make sure all was tight and nothing seemed loose to me...Got back in truck and when I took off again I heard the same thing...Almost sounds like when a tire starts to go flat maybe...Kinda hard to describe the exact sound ...this only happened that I noticed at slow speed( could be at 75 but maybe I didnt hear it) tires are good have only been on bout 7k maybe.... Could this be a wheel bearing going bad ?? wife said that she didnt hear it again til she got to work this morning and was kinda faint....Dont feel anything really in the steering when it happens?? IDK but need to get it fixed soon as I can ....Thanks for the input guys and will try and do a better Job about getting on more just alot happening in life right now.....
Did you feel your rim to see if its hot, a brake or caliper could be getting hung up, starting with the less expensive. Whens the last time you did your brakes and slide pin clean and regreasing??

Mike I just did it a few months ago when I replaced the brakes and rotors...IIRC no the brakes werent too hot and if caliper was sticking wouldnt truck pull that way...I let the wheel go and it stayed straight ahead( I know not a good Idea at 75 mph)
Rick at first was going straight but did it when I came out the parking lot as well so turning and straight.....Tom that may be a possibility too..... Has not happened before and ran good all the way there and half way back and then started noticing this .... I stood next to the truck when my wife drove off yesterday after picking up my other truck and didnt notice anything out of the ordinary and followed next to and behind her down the interstate with window down and didnt see or hear anything there either....
Rick I dont remember if it did it or not slowing down IIRC it was only when I got started going again.....Like I backed up then put in gear and went forward and I heard it there....Almost right at driver like I told ya on the phone ........
Ron,
while driving when you hear the noise, if you apply the breaks will the noise change?
Didnt really notice if it did or not Bob.....I really was just trying to figure out where it was coming from and letting it coast kinda ...all this was going on at probably 10 to maybe 20 mph and it went away after that or either I was going fast enough that you wouldnt hear it ?? maybe ?
maybe just pick that tire off the ground with a jack and give the wheel a spin since it low speed, with no engine noise you should be able to hear it I would think. Can check for a bad wheel bearing with it in the air as well.

Yeah was gonna do this after work and see if I hear anything then like I said dont know if doing it at higher speeds due to engine noise and the sorts at 75 mph.....Would love to find a rock and know that this was it ...Supposed to be taking kids to race this wknd and not gonna chance anything
Usually you will feel something if something is wrong. Just hearing a noise without feeling something under the truck is a little strange. But I know I am talking to Ron.
I just don't know without hearing the noise myself.

Not funny at all Rick........I am gonna look under there with it jacked up in a little while and see what I can find if anything....Do I need to get my wife to call you Rick?? I heard this noise unlike the noise she told you about .....

Rick can you describe on here what she told you before and see if that makes any sense to anyone??
While I don't know Ron, I agree that a bad wheel bearing you should be feeling, at least some wandering in the front end.
As far as noises, I have had everything from rocks to barbed wire get into a front wheel area and make lots of racket. Being as I live on a half mile of gravel road, I seem to have 2 or 3 rocks per year in a caliper on one of the vehicles, some are small and grind off before I can remove, others are "just right" and have to be removed before I loose my sanity listening to them!
The best one I have to date was a plastic butter dish lid that got caught in my wifes civic CV joint area, sounded like a little kids bicycle with a base ball card cloths pinned to the fork and into the spokes......
