My 54 f100 has has 56 frame. I have removed a couple leaves from the front springs to ease the ride. Not sure if that lowered the stance or not. I'm ready to buy shocks. Do I buy stock length shocks?
I would think so. When I had my front springs replaced, they put in softer, reverse eye springs that dropped it down about 1 to 2 inches. We left the shocks on that were on from before. They were almost brand new. Tony the spring guy said they were fine!
I just bought two sets of medium duty shock absorbers for my 51 and the 52 trailer, and they were $33 a pair at NAPA! Tony said they were fine and there was no need to buy $150 shocks if we took care of the new springs bushings and pins.
