hey I have a 2000 5.4l f150 that the oil mysteriously disappeared from on a 600 mile trip-which in turn caused the friendly ford people to tell me that I had a snowballs chance in he-- on a holiday of getting it fixed under warranty. So I rebuilt It myself and was amazed at how easy it was. The only problem I've had is a minor oil leak from the rear of the engine that only happens when you really give it the gas. I am currently taking the transmission out to get a real good look at it and I think the problem may be the rear main seal. Does anybody have any instructions,tips,ideas or anything to try just to make sure I do it right this time thnks in advance

Have you checked out the PCV system? On a fresh rebuild sometimes the rings don't seal for a while and you can get too much blowby. This will pressurize your crankcase and push oil out past seals.
