A buddy of mine had a little Ford Escort fall on him once at the shop he worked in. Some guy wasn't paying attention while he was backing up and knocked the car off of the stands. Effed him up pretty good too. Broke his pelvis, a few of his ribs, and punctured one of his lungs. He had to stay in the hospital for a little over three weeks.

wow. how do you not see a car up on jacks? backing up while looking out the front windshield? seen too many people do that ...

i was always taught to use jack stands when you go under a vehicle.i have always been paranoid and use jack stands and a floor jack as back up,and i don't trust ramps as well.and seeing those pics makes me even more paranoid.i guess i will be buying heavier jack stands.
ps i glade to hear you are ok.even though a busted hand is a major PIA.

I know. I get so paranoid whenever I work on my vehicles when they are up on stands so I always block the wheels.
